Microsoft are changing the way Windows patches are released.
Until now Microsoft used to release individual updates to fix specific issues. This enabled users to be selective about what patches to apply and which not. From October 2016 Microsoft are introducing Rollup patching, This in essence means a single patch each month which includes all previous available patches for tha month.
This new method will ensure a reduction in the number of patches to install and a more consistent build of all win 7 and 8.1 machines
